2013 Quilt Show Overview

The Oregon Garden’s 6th annual Stitches in Bloom Quilt Show runs Jan. 25 - 26, 2013,  from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will feature quilting demonstrations and lectures, quilt-related vendors, and a tearoom with lunch fare. The event will highlight guest artist Charlotte Warr Andersen, creator of one-of-a-kind pictorial quilts, who will be giving daily lectures.

The Rhythm and Hues and Elements exhibits will be on display from High Fiber Diet.

You're invited to submit quilts for display in the show, with an entry fee of $10 per quilt. Ribbons will be awarded for Viewer’s Choice in appliqué, piecework, art design and traditional quilts. We also invite you to participate in the Quilt Challenge, where participants submit a quilt made from a designated challenge fabric. This year’s fabric is called “Yellow Iris & Peony” by Kaffe Fassett Collective.

We are also offering a three-day pictorial appliqué workshop with featured artist Andersen from January 22 through 24. The price of $250 includes the workshop and lunch all three days.

The quilt show is included with regular Garden admission: $11 adults, $9 seniors 60 and older, $8 students 12-17, $5 children 5-11, and free for children 4 & under. Or volunteer and receive free admission, contact volunteer@oregongarden.org or 503-874-2533.

The Oregon Garden Resort is presenting a variety of lodging packages throughout the week for both Quilt Show and workshop attendees. Make reservations online or by calling 503-874-2500.
